The problem

Womar Pools is a tanker-pool operator that manages chemical and oil tankers trading worldwide. Ship owners who place vessels in the pool need timely, transparent reporting on earnings and distributions.

Voyage, financial and position data lived in separate systems: the IMOS voyage-management system, the finance system and AIS providers. Owners received periodic PDFs by email and had no self-service view of daily earnings, bunker prices or where their ships were.

Before and after

Periodic PDFs

  • Voyage, financial and position data in separate systems
  • Owners received periodic PDFs by email
  • No self-service view of daily earnings, bunker prices or ship positions

Self-service for owners

  • Voyage and accounting data flow in automatically
  • Owners see daily earnings and documents themselves
  • A live map of vessel positions

What we built

  • Automatic data flow

Integrates with IMOS and the financial system, so voyage and accounting data flow into the portal automatically.

  • TCE and percentage-fixed

    Calculated for every voyage.

  • Owner portal

Daily earnings, bunker prices, real-time vessel location, updates from the pool managers and downloadable financial documents.

  • Live vessel map

AIS positions through a secure proxy to Kpler data, so vendor credentials never reach the browser. Moved to an open mapping stack in 2026.

  • Documents and broadcasts

Document management and broadcasts to pool members, with email ingestion.

How owners get their numbers

  1. Data flows in

Voyage data from IMOS and accounting data from the finance system flow into the portal automatically.

  2. Calculate

Built-in algorithms calculate time-charter equivalent (TCE) and percentage-fixed for every voyage.

  3. Publish

Owners see daily earnings, bunker prices, updates from the pool managers and downloadable financial documents.

  4. Track ships

A live vessel map shows AIS positions, through a secure proxy to Kpler data.
