Physical therapy and rehab EMR software built around how therapists work

General EHRs are built for a short visit. Therapy runs on plans that last weeks, sessions that build on each other, and progress that has to be measured. We build and run EMRs for therapy and rehab providers, and Curengo's rehabilitation EMR has run in production with our team for more than four years.

The Problem

What gets in the way

The EHR does not fit a plan of care

Treatment plans, session goals and progress across weeks end up in free-text notes, because the system was designed for a single visit.

Notes are written after hours

Therapists finish progress notes and discharge summaries at the end of the day, from memory, and the detail varies from one therapist to the next.

Vitals and outcomes are typed by hand

Heart rate, blood pressure and oxygen readings are copied from bedside devices, and outcome measures are recorded inconsistently, so recovery is hard to compare.

Packages and billing live somewhere else

Therapy packages, prescriptions and invoices run in separate tools, and the front desk reconciles them by hand.

What We Build

What we build and run for you

  • Plans, sessions and progress in one record

Patient profiles, treatment plans, prescriptions, therapy sessions, progress notes and discharge, shared by doctors, therapists and nurses.

  • Notes drafted from the session

Assessments, progress notes and discharge summaries drafted from what was recorded, then reviewed and signed by the therapist.

  • Vitals straight from the device

Heart rate, blood pressure, oxygen saturation and temperature read from bedside devices into the record, with no re-typing.

  • Protocols and task lists

Standard protocols assign tasks to each member of the care team and show what is done and what is overdue.

  • Packages, pharmacy and billing

Digital prescriptions, therapy packages and invoices run inside the same system as the clinical record.

  • Apps for patients and consultants

Patients and visiting consultants see vitals, reports, appointments and progress on their phones.

AI Engineering

AI that drafts the paperwork, therapists sign it

A language model drafts assessments, progress notes and discharge summaries from the session record and the vitals already captured. Nothing is saved to the chart until the therapist has reviewed and signed it.

About our AI engineering

How It Works

From first call to running every day

  1. 1

    Sit in on the sessions

We learn how your therapists plan, run and record care, and where the current system gets in the way.

  2. 2

    Build the record first

Plans, sessions and notes come first, connected to the systems you keep, such as billing or a hospital EHR.

  3. 3

    Add devices and AI notes

Once the record is in daily use, we connect bedside devices and add drafted notes that therapists review.

  4. 4

    Run it with you

Our engineers support the platform in production and keep adding what your teams ask for.

Therapy and rehabilitation: common questions

No. We build the system around how your practice works and run it for you. The code and the data are yours.

Yes. We can connect to the systems you keep and move to the new record in stages, so no site has to stop and switch overnight.

Our production work is in rehabilitation and post-acute care. The same building blocks of plans, sessions, goals and progress notes apply to physical, occupational and speech therapy and to behavioral health, and we scope each one with you.

Yes. Besides bedside devices, we are building the mobile app for a 12-week therapy program that tracks 16 wearable measures per participant, including heart rate variability, sleep and oxygen saturation.

The system runs in your own cloud account under a Business Associate Agreement, with encryption, role-based access and audit logs.
