OFAC SDN list search
Search the US Treasury's Specially Designated Nationals and Blocked Persons List by name, including the aliases OFAC publishes. Enter up to 25 people or companies, one per line. Results show the sanctions program for each possible match.
What the SDN list is
The Office of Foreign Assets Control lists people, companies, vessels and aircraft whose property is blocked under US sanctions programs. US persons are generally prohibited from dealing with them. Each listing names the sanctions program, such as a country program or a counter-terrorism program.
What this search covers
This search covers the SDN list and its aliases. It does not cover OFAC's other sanctions lists, such as the sectoral sanctions list. Treasury's own Sanctions List Search covers all of them, with fuzzy matching on names.
Confirming a match
Confirm a possible match on sanctionssearch.ofac.treas.gov, and compare the date of birth, nationality and addresses OFAC lists with the person or company you are checking.
Questions
- Does a match mean the person or company is excluded?
- No. The check compares names only, and many people share a name. Treat every result as a possible match and confirm it on the official site with a date of birth, address, NPI or other identifier before acting on it.
- Do you store the names I search?
- No. Names are used to run the search and are not saved. If you ask for the full report, we keep your email address so we can send it.
- How current are the lists?
- Every result shows the date of the file it was checked against. We reload the OIG list each month after OIG publishes it, and the SAM.gov and OFAC lists each week.
