Exclusion check: OIG, SAM.gov and OFAC in one search
Enter up to 25 names, one per line. Each name is searched against the OIG exclusion list, SAM.gov exclusions and the OFAC sanctions list. You see the results here, and you can have the full report sent by email.
Three lists, three different questions
The OIG list answers whether someone may be paid by Medicare, Medicaid and other federal health care programs. SAM.gov exclusions answer whether someone may receive federal contracts, subcontracts and many kinds of federal assistance. The OFAC SDN list answers whether a US person may deal with someone at all. Screening teams usually check all three, because a vendor or employee can appear on one and not the others.
What this check does not cover
State Medicaid exclusion lists, state licensing boards and the other OFAC sanctions lists outside the SDN list are not included. Health care organizations in many states are expected to check their state's Medicaid list as well.
Questions
- Does a match mean the person or company is excluded?
- No. The check compares names only, and many people share a name. Treat every result as a possible match and confirm it on the official site with a date of birth, address, NPI or other identifier before acting on it.
- Do you store the names I search?
- No. Names are used to run the search and are not saved. If you ask for the full report, we keep your email address so we can send it.
- How current are the lists?
- Every result shows the date of the file it was checked against. We reload the OIG list each month after OIG publishes it, and the SAM.gov and OFAC lists each week.
