What is EC2?

Amazon EC2, or Elastic Compute Cloud, is a core component of Amazon Web Services (AWS) that provides scalable computing capacity in the cloud. It allows you to create and manage virtual servers, known as "instances", with ease.

These instances can be thought of as virtual computers that you can configure and use for various applications.

Just like a physical computer, you have the flexibility to install different operating systems (OS) on these instances, making it a versatile solution for a wide range of use cases. For example, you have the flexibility to create an instance with MacOS and utilize it as if it were a standard PC.
